It’s all change

Posted by James Dall on 25, October 2006

Good morning fell Gunners. Well this is my first proper entry after yesterdays brief introduction. I spent a few hours yesterday accustoming myself with wordpress after the shift over from my previous blog on MySpace (which you can still take a peek at if you look at yesterdays entry).

Firstly the victory yesterday in the league cup. A young yet of course talented side took on West Brom away and came away with a convincing 2-0 result. You can watch the goals here The starting line up was as expected and for me to see Senderos and Clichy back is a huge boost for the first team. There was a debut for Denilson who played with sound confidence in the center of midfield. I do have high hopes for this lad and this experience can only have benefited him. On to Aliadiere who took his chance with both hands by scoring two goals, he has been out the picture for a while now however has been performing for the reserves so far this season. If his form continues he may start to push for a start in the first team in the league possibly. Theo was again a real danger, he played out wide again which causes defender all sorts of problems with his blistering pace. Wenger says he will continue to play him out wide which will help to develop him as a player – I definitely agree as he will encounter more one on one situations on the wing. There is nothing more pleasing than seeing a young player having a go at a defender and tryin to take him on. Adebayor’s injury is a concern and lets hope he is not out for too long as I think he has been excellent so far this season, he gives us something a little bit different up front and it is great to have that variation

Kolo signed a contract extension which is fantastic news, he is such a consistent performer and is still only 25. With him and Fabregas signing long term deals recently Arsenal are beginning to look stronger and stronger.

Right I am off to do some university work today, I hope you all have a great day
