Tough leauge cup draw

Posted by James Dall on 26, October 2006

Afternoon, firstly the news that Adebayor could be out for 3 weeks. He is definitely out for this weekends game against Everton. Speaking of whom, we have been drawn away against them in the next roundof the league cup. Certainly not the easiest of draws, I think it will be interesting as to how much of an inexperienced team Wenger plays. We play Everton at home in the league this weekend and although Adebayor is injured I imagine he would not have started anyway he tends to favour him in the starting line-up away from home. Adebayor has been fantastic this season i feel, he has a tremendous work rate. If you cast your minds back to Old Trafford, he led the line on his own he ran his heart out. He certainly does provide us with a slightly different dimension up front compared to the other possible partners for Thierry.

Moving on from that specific injury onto others – it looks to me now like Wenger is willing to put Clichy back into the first team fold. After nearly starting him against Reading and playing a full 90 minutes midweek I think he shall start on the weekend. This is terrific news having a payer who naturally plays in that position. Lets hope he stays injury free and gets a descent run in the side.

Tomorrow I will give a full preview on Saturday’s game. Have a good afternoon Gunners.
