Champions Leage draw…

Posted by James Dall on 15, December 2006

I thought I would hold my horses on writing the blog until the draw was made.

We have been drawn against PSV, top of the Dutch league currently. I think we all feel that that is not a bad draw really, baring in mind Liverpool got Barca. Anyway it is still important not to get carried away, they will be a tough team to beat. The first leg, which is in Holland is in February at some point.

There is a story here titled ‘Gunners in battle to keep keeper‘, rumour has it what with Arsenal’s policy of offering only one year deals to players over 30, that Seville are prepared to offer Jens a 2 year deal. Fair enough. He is 37 at the moment and for me this should be his last season. It is about time Wenger splashed the cash on a GK, Jens has been good for us over the past couple of years but certainly has had his low points. Hardly anything for the fans to worry about as it is not like he will be leaving in January anyway. More transfer news about us being linked with ANOTHER youngster, this one if not even born yet, Wenger is that good for spotting talent. These stories really don’t excite me anymore, if we were linked with Kaka or someone like that maybe I would pay more attention.

Djourou has commented about how we will still fight for the title –

The Premiership isn’t over. It doesn’t end until May, so anything is possible. I know we’re far behind now, with Chelsea and Manchester United above us, but we’re going to try and win every game and try and catch them up. I know everybody is saying it will be hard, but the belief is there

Excellent maturity from someone who is a year younger than myself.

That is about it for today. A preview on the match tomorrow. Looking back the past 7 days for the club have been quite pleasing!
